Bikes
The bikes I've owned through the years

My first bike. This is the only picture I have of it. I started with the practice driving but never actually took the licence. The law (at that time) stated that at 16 you where allowed to drive a bike with a maximum of 11kW (14.7hp) and that licence would stay that way. But at 18 you could get a licence for 25kW (34hp) and that licence would then expand after two years to allow any road legal bike. I was a slow at finishing the theory and therefore skipped to the 25kW licence right away and got it the day after I turned 18.

My second bike. This is what I drove with the 25kW licence. On paper this had one hp to much for the licence but we benched it and used that as a way to get it approved. There were not that many 25kW bikes around but this one I bought from a relative.

My third bike. The day after I turned 18 my licence restriction was lifted and I found this bike in a magazine. I fell in love with it right away. My dad had at the time imported one or more cars from Germany, they were cheaper there. So I started looking for the SVs, found a few and called the sellers. The one I bought was in very good condition. Very fun bike. Quick, light and agile, sound like thunder. I had it for three years and rode over 30000 km on it.

My fourth bike. I wanted something with a little bit more power, I really liked the twin engine on the SVs. I read good things about the Aprilia so I started looking online in Germany again and found a few of interest and my dad with some friends and I went there and came back with this one. A beautiful bike indeed, but I could only ride it for a few weeks before I crashed and broke my spine. There was a road repair with loose gravel and no sign to warn about it the way I came, and the gravel was impossible to see. It's a cheap way of repairing, they spread tar on the road and then loose gravel over it, some of it get pushed down by cars and some end up in the ditch.

My fifth and current bike. I spent a month in the hospital after the crash and a year rehabilitating, but during that year I used the insurance money to get another Mille, this one had also been crashed (and repaired) and the previous owner repainted it.
